offered by many colleges, universities, and high schools on a flexible schedule with on-site

I did not receive my test scores until after
the regular registration deadline for the next
test date. Will I be required to pay the late
or emergency registration fee to register for
the next test date? |
|
If you receive your
score report after the regular registration
deadline for the next test date, you will be

that date. See the "Testing on Consecutive

Fees and Payment Policies" for more
information.

| REGISTERING TO TEST |
 |
 |
How do I register for one section? |
|
During registration,
you do not need to indicate which section(s)
of the test you plan to take. On the day of
the test, you will be given a test booklet with
all three sections. Take only the section(s)
of the test you wish to take. See "The
Test Session" for additional information.

 |
How do I register if I don't have a social security number? |
|
If you do not have a social security number, use the identification number assigned to you by your institution
or by Evaluation Systems (if you have previously registered for the THEA Test). If you have not been assigned an identification
number by your institution or Evaluation Systems, refer to "U.S. Mail Registration"
for additional information about how to register if you do not have a social security number.

 |
If my Internet connection disconnects before I finish registering online, will my information still be processed? |
|
No. If a registration session is terminated
before you click the "submit" button,
your information is lost and you must begin
again.
[Top of Page] |
 |
Can I register to test or pay my test fees at the test center? |
|
No. There are no provisions
for on-site registration or payments for the
THEA program. See "Registration
Options" for an overview of the various
registration methods available to you and for
information about when you may use each method
to register. If you need to take the THEA Test
before the next scheduled administration, see

 |
Will you accept a photocopy of the registration form? Can I fax my registration form to Evaluation Systems? |
|
No. Because registration forms are scanned electronically by Evaluation Systems, only original forms
can be accepted. If you wish to register by U.S. mail, you must obtain a registration form, which is found inside the
envelope in the center of the printed registration bulletin. You may pick up a current registration bulletin from your
local high school, college, or university. You may also order a copy of the registration bulletin or the scannable
registration form online by selecting "Print Bulletin and Forms (PDF)" and
following the instructions provided.

 |
My check bounced. Can I send another? |
|
No. You must now
send in a money order or cashier's check. If
you find that your check has bounced, call Evaluation Systems
to obtain information about how to clear your account
in order to avoid a delay in the delivery of
your test scores. See "Test
Fees and Payment Policies" for more information.

| AFTER REGISTERING TO TEST |
 |
 |
How do I verify my registration status? |
|
The way in which your registration is confirmed
depends on the method that you used to register
to test.
- If you registered on the Internet, you will
receive your admission ticket by e-mail
after your registration has been processed and
you have been assigned to a specific test center.
You will also receive an admission
ticket by U.S. mail.
- If you registered by U.S. mail,
you will receive your admission ticket
by U.S. mail after your registration has been
processed and you have been assigned to a specific
test center.
-
If you requested alternative testing arrangements, you will receive
your admission ticket by U.S. mail, regardless of registration method.
See "Confirming
Your Registration" for more information
about when to contact Evaluation Systems about your registration
status.

 |
How
do I change my registration? |
|
See "Changing Your
Registration" for details about how and
when you may change your registration (e.g., your
test date, your test center) or withdraw your registration
and how to correct or update personal information
that appears on your admission ticket (e.g., your
mailing address).
[Top of Page] |
 |
I
have not yet received my admission ticket. What
should I do? |
|
See "Confirming
Your Registration" for details about
what to do if you have not received your admission
ticket. Depending on how and when you registered,
there are different ways in which your registration
status may be confirmed and different guidelines
for how and when you should follow up if you
have not received your admission ticket.
[Top of Page] |
 |
I lost my admission ticket. May I still be admitted to the test center without it? |
|
Yes, you may still
be admitted to the test center and permitted
to test. However, you may first be required
to complete additional paperwork, which could
reduce your available testing time. See "What
to Bring to the Test Center" for details
about what you may be required to do or provide
at the test center if you do not have your admission
ticket.

 |
Will I be permitted to use a calculator
on the test? |
|
Examinees are allowed to use four-function
(+, –, ×, ÷), nonprogrammable calculators
(with square root [√] and percent [%] keys). Examinees
who wish to use a calculator for the THEA Test
will need to bring their own calculator to the
test administration. See "The
Test Session" for more information
about the types of calculators allowed at the
test.

 |
I have moved and need to change my mailing address. What should I do? |
|
You can change your mailing address on the day of the test by filling out a
Registration Information Correction Form.
[Top of Page] |
| THE DAY OF THE TEST |
 |
 |
I was absent from the test administration.
Will I receive a refund? |
|
If you are absent, you will not receive a refund
or credit of any kind unless you have previously
taken and passed the Writing Section. You will
need to register and pay again to test at a
future administration. See "Reporting
to the Test Center" for more information
about the absentee policy.
[Top of Page] |
 |
What forms of identification do I need to bring to the test? |
|
You should bring two pieces of identification,
one with a recent photograph. See "What
to Bring to the Test Center" for additional
information about the identification policy.
[Top of Page] |
| SCORES AND SCORE REPORTING |
 |
 |
How are tests scored, and how do I read
my official score report? |
|
You will receive with your official score report
an explanation of how to read and interpret
your scores. See "How
to Read Your Score Report" for information
about how your score is determined. See "Taking
and Passing the THEA Test" for information
about the passing standards for the test.
[Top of Page] |
 |
May I request additional copies of my scores? |
|
Yes. See "Score Report Reprints"
for complete information about how to request additional
copies of your scores.
[Top of Page] |
 |
Can I get my scores over the phone? |
|
No. To protect an individual's right to privacy,
score information will never be released over
the telephone. See "Release
of Test Scores" for additional information.
[Top of Page] |
 |
How do I correct my social security number on my score report(s)? |
|
See the "Examinee Score Report" section
in "Release of Test Scores" for information about how to correct
your social security number.

| ALTERNATIVE TESTING ARRANGEMENTS |
 |
 |
May I submit my request for alternative
testing arrangements on the Internet? |
|
No. If you register on the Internet,
you will need to submit by fax or U.S. mail, after completing
your registration on the Internet, your Alternative
Testing Arrangements Request Form and any required
documentation. If you register by U.S. mail, your Alternative Testing
Arrangements Request Form and any required documentation should
be submitted with your registration materials. See "Registering
for Alternative Testing Arrangements" for
additional important information about how to request
alternative testing arrangements.
[Top of Page] |
 |
May I still request alternative testing
arrangements after the regular registration deadline? |
|
Yes. However, because
of the time that it takes to review requests
adequately, and because of test-center and staffing
constraints, there is no assurance that requests
received after the regular registration deadline
can be accommodated.
[Top of Page] |
 |
The last time that I tested, my request
for alternative testing arrangements was granted.
Do I need to submit the paperwork again each time
I register? |
|
You must complete and submit
an Alternative
Testing Arrangements Request Form each time
that you register. However, if you submit all
required documentation the first time that you
request alternative testing arrangements, this
documentation will be kept on file for one year.
So, if you register for subsequent test dates
during that year, you need only submit your registration,
correct payment, and a completed Alternative Testing
Arrangements Request Form as long as your disability
and the recommended accommodations have not changed.

|
 |
May I submit a request to test on an alternative
test date for religious reasons? |
|
See the "Registering
for an Alternative Test Date for Religious Reasons"
section in "Registering
for Alternative Testing Arrangements"
for complete information about how to register
for an alternative test date for religious reasons.
