Multiple-choice test sections. The multiple-choice questions of the THEA Test are scored by computer. If you accurately follow directions and mark the answer sheet properly, the computer scoring process is virtually error free. If, however, after you receive your score report, you believe that your score on the Reading or Mathematics Section of the test is incorrect and you want it to be checked, you may request a rescore of your multiple-choice answer document.
If you wish to request a rescore of your answers on the multiple-choice sections of the THEA Test, you
may download the Rescore Request Form as a PDF document from the THEA Web site by selecting "Print Bulletin and Forms (PDF)".
The rescore service is available after examinee score
reports have been mailed and for the three-month period following the test date. See "Test Fees and
Payment Policies" for information about the rescoring fee. Payment for rescoring must be made by money
order or cashier’s check only. Please allow three weeks for processing.
Writing sample. All writing samples for the Writing Section of the THEA Test are scored according to standardized procedures during scoring sessions held immediately after each test administration. Scorers with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring sessions. As part of the scoring process, writing samples are scored by more than one scorer and are, in essence, rescored at that time. Because all writing samples are automatically rescored, no additional rescore service is available.
