Release of Test Scores

Your test scores from the THEA will be reported to you, the institution(s) you indicated when you registered, and the test center at which you took the test. Because test scores are confidential and private, under no circumstances will your score be released over the telephone, in person, or by e-mail.

Examinee Score Report

In most cases, your score report will be available once your writing sample is scored, which may take up to 10 minutes. You may access your score report from any computer with Internet access by logging in to your account at http://thea.starttest.com. Link opens in a new window

Automatic scoring of your writing sample may not be possible if the writing sample is too short and/or off topic. If your writing sample cannot be automatically scored, it may take up to two business days for your score report to become available.

Score Reports to Institutions or Texas Education Agency (TEA)

Test results will be reported automatically to the institution where you took your test. If you need your test results reported to additional institutions or the Texas Education Agency (TEA), you may request that a copy be sent by submitting a completed Test Results Request Form PDF document. The fee for a copy of your test results is $15 per copy. Enclose a money order or cashier’s check for the appropriate amount payable to Evaluation Systems. Do not send cash. Please allow two to four weeks from receipt of your request for delivery of your scores.
