Release of Test Scores

Your test scores from the THEA IBT will be reported to you, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), the institution(s) you indicated when you registered, and the test center at which you took the test. Because test scores are confidential and private, under no circumstances will your score be released over the telephone, in person, by e-mail, or by fax.

Examinee Score Report

In most cases, your score report will be available once your writing sample is scored, which may take up to 10 minutes. You may access your score report from any computer with Internet access by logging in to your account at http://thea.starttest.com. Link opens in a new window

Automatic scoring of your writing sample may not be possible if the writing sample is too short and/or off topic. If your writing sample cannot be automatically scored, it may take up to two business days for your score report to become available.

Score Reports to Institutions

During registration, you will be asked to select the institution(s) that you would like to receive your score report. Scores will be reported automatically to the institution where you took your test, but you may also select additional institutions to receive your scores. Only the institutions designated as test sites for the THEA IBT may receive score reports.
